Known as the “Warren Buffet of Mexico”, Carlos Slim Helú is the Chief Executive and the Chairman of the giant telecommunications twin companies- América Móvil and Telmex. This well-known Mexican business magnate, investor, and philanthropist is of Lebanese origin to parents Linda Helú and Julián Slim Haddad, who fled from conscription into the army during the Ottoman empire and thus arrived in Mexico speaking no Spanish and only 14 years of age. It certainly paid off as their son Carlos eventually became the world’s richest person from the years 2010 to 2013.

However, last year was a tough one for Mr. Slim as the mogul lost a massive $20 billion in wealth as a result of a drastic decline in the value of the shares of his telecom company America Movil SAB. The change in telecom regulations in Mexico was the main reason behind this loss. According to Bloomberg, this $20 billion is roughly equivalent to the size of the entire Honduran economy.

No reason to panic as he is still worth a whopping $52.8 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, making him the fifth richest individual in the world, down from third earlier in 2015. Moreover, this forward thinker always has some different strategies and somewhat unconventional ideas that are sure to get him out of any crisis. For instance, he believes that three-day work weeks are better for you, adding that "You should have more time for you during all of your life -- not when you're 65 and retired," in an interview with CNNMoney's Christine Romans.

Mr. Slim’s secrets are three scarce attributes as he once said that a true leader must possess: “...Intelligence, courage and benevolence. Some leaders are brave and smart, yet bad-tempered and destructive; others are benevolent while lacking the two other attributes. The three attributes are required.
